Facts and Figures
- MorningStar is currently the only Archdiocesan owned and
operated center for ongoing adult faith formation open to
people of all faiths in Miami.
- MorningStar served approximately 5000 people in its first
year of operation.
- MorningStar is the South Florida “home” to
many parish Emmaus retreats, World Wide Marriage Encounter,
Catholic Prayer Breakfast, many High School Encounters,
Catholic Office of Lay Ministry Formation retreats, Catholic
Deaconate Formation retreats.
- MorningStar has developed and hosted programs to serve:
parents, home-schoolers, business leaders, professional
and lay ministers, people in recovery of addictions, survivors
of sexual abuse, young adults, retirees.
- MorningStar has hosted people of a variety of faith backgrounds:
Catholic, Protestant, and Jewish.
- MorningStar has turned away dozens of groups because
presently we can only accommodate one group at a time and
it must be 60 persons or less.
MorningStar surveyed 2000

an interest to attend ongoing opportunities for spiritual
growth at MorningStar

there is a great need for inter-faith experiences

welcome programs that supported issues of family life
and faith

that their faith development is a significant part of
their quality of life

at the retaining of the retreat house property and support
its positive impact in the community.
