About The Event
The Loss of Homeland can be a source of deep grief. The losses are many and multidimensional, including loss of social connection, loss of identity, loss of cultural celebrations and rituals, loss of meaning, loss of connection to place, as well as feelings of spiritual emptiness.
MorningStar Renewal Center in collaboration with Global Grief Support, Inc. offer quality training and support to faith communities and individuals experiencing and striving to cope with grief experiences, including the very impactful Loss of Homeland.
The evening presentation will assist anyone who has left home/homeland and who feel the ache of loss, are dealing with unresolved grief, and/or a variety of accompanying experiences due to the leaving behind of their country of origin.
Included will be the following significant topics in the theme:
• Name the elements of grief in the loss of homeland • Identify complicated grief in our stories • Discover the spiritual and biblical tools that connect to our loss • Learn more about the spirituality of exile • Explore the strategies of coping with the loss of homeland.
All are welcome! Please come and learn, share, heal, and know that you are not alone!Grief, traumatic experiences, the loss of a loved one often raise profound spiritual questions; however death and loss are very often not dealt with beyond the funeral though the grieving process continues.
