About The Event
Listen up new Peer Ministers!
Peer Ministry teaches teens to reach out to other teens, spiritually. It teaches them ways to listen, ask the right questions, understand and connect with one another. Shows them how to be a friend and be there as a spiritual support. Being a Peer Ministry Leader is helping others deepen their faith and to love one another as Christ loves us.
At the end of your retreat you will be a better disciple of God, you will have amazing friends, and you will be a Peer Minister for MorningStar! That's what this week is about. Reignite that fire, your faith! Let's take that out to the world and show other peers what we are and what we do.
Requirements: High School student, Confirmation, Letter of recommendation from Youth Leader or Pastor
Concerning Social Distancing
MorningStar is focused on creating a prayerful space that is safe for all those who attend this retreat. Our general sanitation practices can be found on our main webpage www.morningstarrenewal.org. We also wanted to share with you a few specifics on how we intend to keep your teen safe during this training specifically.
Our bed rooms will be changed to single occupancy. The only exception will be for those of the same gender from the same household.
All chairs will be pre-set up at a distance of at least 6 feet from each other. Students will be assigned to specific chairs to restrict the amount of physical contact with surfaces. There will be doorways dedicated to entering and exiting our chapel. all activities are being adjusted to assure that social distancing is followed.
We will have hand sanitizing stations at each entrance, and will encourage hand washing throughout the week. All participants will be required to bring a mask with them.
For more details on how we are following social distancing, please feel free to contact Alex, the Director of Youth Programming.
